The Ibadan Central Hospital in the Ososami area of the state has been enmeshed in drama and commotion after some body parts of a deceased 91-year-old patient went missing overnight.
According to reports, after the patient identified as Rachel Osuntolu, passed away on Sunday morning, someone tampered with her body. Meanwhile, she had been brought to the hospital more than a week earlier.
In order to transport the body to a morgue this morning, some of the nonagenarian’s children explained that they left the hospital around 8:00 on Sunday evening.
They added that they were all shocked to see blood on the floor of the room where the corpse was kept and pounds of flesh that had been removed from the woman’s forehead and arm.
Independent reported that pressmen attempted to speak with Oluwaseun Hastrup, the hospital’s administrator, but she declined to comment on the matter.
The state police public relations officer, SP. Adewale Osifeso, responded to the incident by saying he hadn’t yet received a briefing on it.
To stop a breakdown in law and order, the divisional police officer of Iyaganku and his crew were on the scene.
