The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, has announced that a significant total of 11,912 candidates have submitted applications for various undergraduate degree programs for the upcoming 2024/2025 academic session.
In a statement on Saturday, Adebowale highlighted that these candidates have participated in the post-University Tertiary Matriculation Examination tests organized by the institution.
The testing process began on Thursday, marking an important step in the admissions journey.
Adebowale actively participated in overseeing the tests, accompanied by other principal officers of the university.
“I led other principal officers of the university to ensure the success of the exercise,” he stated.
The atmosphere at the venue was lively, with candidates and their parents arriving as early as 6:00 a.m. in anticipation of the examinations.
The Admissions Committee had made arrangements for their comfort, providing chairs and canopies to accommodate the large turnout.
Candidates had been informed to visit the UI Admissions Portal prior to the exams to print their photo-cards, which detail their specific examination date, time, and venue, ensuring a smooth process as they navigate this crucial phase of their academic pursuits.
“I led other principal officers of the university to ensure the success of the exercise.
“Candidates and their parents had arrived at the venue as early as 6.00 a.m. and the Admissions Committee had arranged chairs and canopies for their convenience.
“11,912 candidates. Candidates had earlier been advised to visit the UI Admissions Portal to print their photo-cards, which bear their date of examination, time, and venue,” the statement added.
