The 2023 Emmy Awards has been postponed to a date that will beater announced.
The event which was earlier scheduled to hold September 18 is another event that will be affected by the ongoing strikes by Hollywood actors and writers.
According to an exclusive report by Variety, vendors, producers, and other parties involved with the event were informed that their services will be pushed to a later date.
The TV academy and Fox would most likely postpone the event until January of next year, as the strikes show no signs of ending soon.
The Writers Guild of America kick-started industrial actions in May after efforts to solve labour disputes with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers proved futile. The union demands higher pay, especially residuals from streaming services.
The writers also requested a guarantee that Artificial Intelligence will only be used for research purposes and not a total replacement for their services.
The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists followed with a walkout in July also over the issue of dwindling pay and the threat posed by AI.
