Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services Limited, trading as 9mobile, has announced the appointment of Ayodeji Adedeji as its new Chief Technical and Information Officer.
This move is a strategic part of the company’s ongoing business transformation agenda, aimed at integrating innovative solutions and enhancing the network experience for its customers.
Adedeji brings over 25 years of expertise in network operations, architecture, service delivery management, and design.
His extensive experience covers 4G, 5G, and IP technologies, including data centers, and spans multiple regions including Europe, The Caribbean, the USA, and Africa.
Before joining 9mobile, he served as the General Manager of Network Services at Airtel Nigeria, where he managed a large team and was responsible for core operations, including circuit-switched and packet-switched networks, BSS nodes, IN, and VAS network operations.
9mobile CEO, Obafemi Banigbe, expressed enthusiasm about Adedeji’s appointment, “We’re excited to welcome Ayodeji to the 9mobile family. Adedeji’s career trajectory includes roles such as Network Architect and Strategy, Network Design, Planning and Optimization, and Network Engineering, with notable contributions at Hargray Communications, Ericsson, Etisalat Nigeria, and Airtel Nigeria.
His leadership has been pivotal in achieving business continuity and enterprise planning, culminating in ISO 23001 certification.
Known for his passion for new technologies and innovation, Adedeji is committed to advancing technological capabilities and operational excellence.

Adedeji holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering, Digital Telecommunications, from the University of Lagos and has received extensive training in Project Management, Service Excellence, Network Technologies, Disaster Recovery, and AWS Cloud. He is also a Mini MBA graduate from Tekedia Institute.
In his role as Chief Technical and Information Officer, Adedeji will oversee the technological strategy of the organization, focusing on IT infrastructure, systems, and digital strategies.
His leadership will be instrumental in driving automation, innovation, and aligning the company’s technology with its strategic vision for growth and operational excellence.
