The Lagos State Government has announced the road closure of the Second Rainbow bus stop along the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway.
According to Vanguard, this disclosure was contained in a statement signed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde.
He stated that the road closure and diversion which started on December 24, 2022, will last till January 5, 2023.
The partial road closure and traffic diversion on that axis was necessary to prevent vehicular interference and maintain motorist safety during the launch of beams at the Second Rainbow bus stop, where the state is constructing a link flyover.
In his statement, Oladeinde advised vehicles on the Apapa bound lane from Cele Bus Stop heading inwards Mile 2 axis to take the Festac link road at Second Rainbow and turn left, then obey traffic signs to complete their travels.
“Also, motorists on the Oshodi bound lane towards Cele bus stop should make a right turn at the Second Rainbow bus stop to proceed to their desired destinations” be added.
Oladeinde added that diversions signs will be set up throughout the affected corridor to help direct and reduce delays for drivers, and that officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority would be stationed along the axis to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
