The Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, has pleaded with the public to stop attacking its employees and vandalising facilities at any of its business locations.
According to The PUNCH, the company’s appeal was in a statement made by its Managing Director, Kingsley Achife, on Wednesday.
The director emphasised on the vital roles played by the distribution company to citizen’s everyday life.
Achife said, “The attack on these offices not only causes damage to the property but also disrupts the provision of electricity which affects the livelihoods of many and throws communities into darkness.
“We understand that these are trying times for us all, but attacking staff who are also Nigerians and destroying electrical installations will further exacerbate the challenges.”
He then implored members of the public to keep maintaining law and order and avoid attacking electricity workers who play vital roles in their homes and businesses.
He also assured the customers that the company remains committed to offering good services and improving its infrastructure and operations.
Meanwhile, IBEDC has also strengthened its cashless payment channels to minimise pressure on customers.
He further said, “We are also open to feedback and suggestions from the public, and will work to address any issue raised speedily.”
