A man named Kabiru Muhammad has taken his in-laws to a Shariah court for allegedly forcibly removing his wife from the marital house in Kano.
According to Daily Trust, a case was filed in the Hotoro Masallachi district court in Kano Municipal against Ali Dan Abba, Hadiza Dan Abba, and Haruna Bala Dangwauro, three of the plaintiff’s wife’s relatives.
The woman testified that she left her husband’s home voluntarily to live with her older sister because he was neglecting her needs.
The woman said, “I took myself to my elder sister. Nobody forced me to do that. I have been sick for a long time, but he refused to take me to hospital. That was why I decided to go to my sister’s in Dambatta LGA.”
The court, presided over by Mallam Nasir Muhammad Ahmad, ordered that the woman be taken to a hospital for treatment in order for the case to be heard.
