After reaching an agreement with La Liga team Villarreal, Italian powerhouse AC Milan is anticipated to announce the signing of Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze next week.
The 24-year-old is expected to agree to a four-year contract with the Italians that will run through the 2026–2027 campaign. Chukwueze and the Rossoneri have previously agreed upon personal terms.
The Rossoneri have agreed to pay a total of €28 million for Chukwueze, consisting of €20 million up front and €8 million in bonuses, according to a report in Gazzetta.
Despite their being no reports of ailments, the Nigerian international was benched by the Yellow Submarine for their friendly match against Hannover on Saturday, confirming the veracity of the allegation.
Chukwueze is reportedly scheduled to have his medical exams as soon as Monday of the following week.
The manager of AC Milan, Stephano Pioli, has told the Nigerian about the exciting new project he is constructing in Milan with the help of young talents like Rafael Leao and the recently acquired Noah Okafor.
Pioli is reportedly interested in signing Chukwueze to play right wing.
Popular Italian football transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano revealed in a tweet on Saturday that the move is scheduled to be finalised next week, and the players made the announcement public.
“Samuel Chukwueze was not even called up for Villarreal friendly game vs Hannover. He’s on the verge of joining AC Milan as the deal will be completed next week,”he tweeted.
