AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze has sustained a left hamstring injury while on international duty with Nigeria, the club confirmed on Wednesday.
The Serie A leaders released a statement on their website, indicating that the extent of the injury was not explicitly stated, but reports in the Italian press suggest that Chukwueze could be sidelined for approximately one month.
“Samuel Chukwueze is already back at Milanello: the Nigerian suffered a left hamstring injury while away on international duty,” said the Serie A leaders in a statement on the club’s website.
Chukwueze, who joined Milan this summer from Villarreal, has become the latest Nigerian player to face injury concerns.
His compatriot Victor Osimhen, who plays for Napoli, also recently suffered a left hamstring injury while representing his country.
The 24-year-old winger has made nine appearances for AC Milan in various competitions so far this season.
