Nigeria Labour Congress on Tuesday shut the gates into the National Assembly Complex in Abuja as the Parliamentary workers joined the ongoing protests by the labour unions.
The NLC and Trade Union Congress had declared a nationwide indefinite strike starting Tuesday despite a court order restraining the unions from doing so.
Last week, the unions issued a nationwide strike notice over the battering of the President of NLC, Joe Ajaero on November 1 2023, in Imo State.
Reports revealed that as at 12:23 pm on Tuesday the National Assembly complex, all the gates into the complex were under lock and key.
Many workers were seen stranded at the entrance of the National Assembly, however, it was gathered that despite the lockdown, plenary is still ongoing in the House of Representatives at the time of this report.
