Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has commended Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen after his impressive performance in a win over Cameroon in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations’ Round of 16 on Saturday.
Oliseh gave this commendation in a post via his official X handle.
He expressed his satisfaction with the Napoli star for his offensive runs and defensive work against Cameroon during the encounter.
Osimhen gave an assist during the clash against Cameroon as two goals from Ademola Lookman ensured Jose Peseiro’s side sealed their spot in the quarter-finals after defeating the Indomitable Lions.
Oliseh wrote, “Victor Osimhen! Victor Osimhen!! Extremely impressed not only by his offensive runs, defensive work but even on corner kicks, tormenting of the Cameroon’s defence, but mostly by his leadership and hunger to win! Bravo to our African Ballon D’or.”
After Cameroon win, Nigeria will now face Angola on Friday, February 2 in the AFCON quarter-finals.
