Six people, including four adults and two children, lost their lives when a car and a motorbike collided in a devastating accident at West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom.
According to BBC, the incident occurred on the A61 Wakefield Road, which runs between Wakefield and Barnsley, at approximately 15:55 BST on Sunday afternoon.
The collision involved a Ford Focus and a motorcycle.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that a man and a woman, along with two girls traveling in the car, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorbike riders, a man and a woman, were also confirmed dead.
The crash took place between Staincross and Newmillerdam, resulting in the closure of the road between Shaw Lane and Warren Lane.
The road is expected to remain shut for an extended period as investigations proceed, with police urging any witnesses to come forward.
Supt Alan Travis of West Yorkshire Police expressed the gravity of the situation, stating, “This is an absolutely tragic incident which has resulted in the loss of six lives. Our thoughts go out to the families of those who have died who we are working with to provide support at this time.”
