On Monday,Russia announced the interception and destruction of 39 drones launched by Ukraine, primarily targeting regions along the border.
According to a statement from the AFP, Russian defense ministry on Telegram, anti-air defense systems downed 19 drones in the Kursk region, nine in Belgorod, three in Voronezh, and five in Bryansk—all of which border Ukraine.
Additionally, three drones were neutralized in the northwestern Leningrad region near Saint Petersburg in what was described as an “attempted terrorist attack.”
Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian fuel depots, refineries, and energy facilities have become frequent, particularly in these border areas.
Meanwhile, Russia has conducted extensive attacks on Ukraine’s power infrastructure, leading to significant electricity shortages in recent months.
