A tragic building collapse in Ifetedo, Osun State, has claimed the life of a resident identified as Mrs. Idowu.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, involved an abandoned and dilapidated structure located in the Omiloode area of the town.
According to The PUNCH, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun NSCDC, Kehinde Adeleke, stated that the site had been secured by security personnel to prevent further accidents.
“An abandoned, dilapidated building located along Omiloode Street, Ifetedo, collapsed, tragically killing Mrs. Idowu, who was near the structure at the time of the incident,” Adeleke explained.
“Our officers from the Ife South Division responded immediately after being informed, but sadly, the victim was already deceased when recovered from the debris.”
Adeleke added that the NSCDC had cordoned off the area to prevent unauthorized access while investigations into the cause of the collapse continue.
