Super Eagles B players are set to reconvene next week to resume their build-up for the upcoming 2025 African Nations Championship qualifiers.
The squad, aiming to secure their place in the tournament, faces a decisive two-legged encounter with Ghana in December.
Following their initial training camp in Abuja, where they gathered for sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, the team wrapped up for the week, allowing players to return to their clubs ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League weekend matches.
During these sessions, the players displayed significant potential, earning praise from Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen. As the Nigeria Football Federation’s Technical Director, Eguavoen commended their performance, despite limited training time.
“Very impressive, only two training sessions, but you can see that technically they are very good,” Eguavoen remarked to NFF TV. “We still have a lot of work to do because they are coming from different clubs. We have to try to see how we can blend them into one unit.”
His comments reflect both optimism and the need for further team cohesion as the players come from various club backgrounds.
Ghana will play host in the first leg of the qualifier, scheduled between December 20-22, while the second leg will see Nigeria hosting their rivals the following week.
The aggregate winner of these encounters will earn a spot in the 2025 CHAN tournament, which is set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—marking a significant milestone for football across East Africa.
