Jigawa State was struck by a devastating double tragedy this week as two fatal car accidents claimed a total of 20 lives within 48 hours.
The second incident, reported on Tuesday night, occurred along the Auyo-Adiyani road in Guri Local Government Area.
According to The PUNCH, six members of the same family tragically lost their lives while returning from a condolence visit to relatives of victims from the earlier crash.
The first accident, which occurred in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, had already left 14 people dead, plunging the community into mourning.
Eyewitnesses described the latest accident as a harrowing blow to a community still grappling with the impact of the initial tragedy.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Shi’isu Lawan Adam, stated that investigations were underway to establish the causes of the crashes.
