AbdulRazaq hails Kwara students with outstanding 2024 UTME results
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has congratulated 31 students from the state who excelled in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The students, from both public and private schools, scored over 300 marks in the exam, with one student, Master Samuel Olanrewaju Oluwasemilore of Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, achieving an impressive 358 marks.
The Governor in a statement on Saturday by the chief press secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakayealso commended the “Great 30” students from Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, who scored between 355 and 300 marks, as well as other high-performing students from various schools in the state.
He described their achievements as “shining examples” for younger students to emulate.
AbdulRazaq expressed pride in the state’s education sector, citing recent successes such as Kwara State’s representation at the World School Debate in Singapore.
“Particularly heartwarming is the result of Master Samuel Olanrewaju Oluwasemilore of Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, who scored 358 in the exam.
“Governor AbdulRazaq also congratulates the Great 30 (students) from Kwara-based Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, who got between 355 and 300 marks in the exam — and similar high-performers from other schools in the state.
“We are proud of achievements like this; they serve as shining examples for younger ones to work harder, be at their best in their studies, and make their parents and community proud,” the Governor says.
“We are also excited that these are not isolated successes in our education sector, coming only a few weeks after Kwara State represented Nigeria on the global stage at the World School Debate in Singapore, among other feats.”
He announced that the state government has approved the expansion of its tech-based learning program, KwaraLEARN, to improve learning outcomes statewide.
Additionally, a Kwara State Education Trust Fund will be launched to inject more resources and strengthen accountability in the sector.
The Governor’s congratulatory message comes after the release of the UTME results, which showed that 30 students from Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College and one student from Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, achieved outstanding scores.
The state government’s investment in education is yielding impressive results, and the Governor assured that the next few years will bring even more remarkable achievements.
