Two cattle herders have been remanded by an area court in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory, for abducting and raping an eight months old woman.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the defendants, Nuru Tukur (21) and Yusufa Haruna (29), on February 25, kidnapped the pregnant woman from her residence where they took her to a bush where they raped her.
The prosecutor, Dabo Yakubu, stated that one Abubakar Wakili of Yaba in Abaji Area Council, reported the case to the police.
According to Yakubu, the victim from the Abaji Area Council was kidnapped on February 25 from her home by two convicted criminals.
They then brought the victim to a jungle where they both sexually assaulted her without caring that she was eight months pregnant.
The crimes, according to the prosecutor, violated Sections 96, 262, 264, and 387 of the Criminal Code.
The judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, delayed punishment so that he could observe and assess the victim’s condition.
