Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Wednesday urged both the Federal and state governments to embrace the security approach of former Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, adding that if properly implemented, it will put an end to insecurity in the zone and their environs.
Chidi Ibe led faction of the organization, in a statement in Abakaliki, the Secretary General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, while commemorating Ikpeazu’s 59 birthday, noted that the former governor has remained a patriot, distinguished academician and a visionary leader, who has made significant contributions to the security and development of the state.
Isiguzoro said, “During his remarkable tenure as governor from 2015 to 2023, Ikpeazu demonstrated profound proficiency in addressing the prevailing security challenges that have plagued the South East without any feasible solutions.
“His unwavering commitment and proactive measures in securing Abia have earned him the deep gratitude of the Igbo people. We commend his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the safety andwell-being of Abia citizens.”
