Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday evening defeated Sao Tome and Principe by six goals to nil at the magnificent Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen was on the score sheet three times as to help the home side record extend its lead on the table.
Though the three-time African champions have already qualified for the AFCON tournament, the Nigerian side fielded a strong team against its opponent.
While Victor Osimhen bagged an hat trick, Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi and Samuel Chukwueze were also on the score sheet for the home side.
With the win, the Super Eagles have now scored 22 goals in the qualifying series. The game was also Nigeria’s second clean sheet in the group.
