Falconets of Nigeria defeated Uganda 2-0 to reached the final of the women’s football event of the African Games 2023.
Monday’s encounter was closely contested with both teams seeking a spot in the finals.
Both teams had pushed for a breakthrough in the first half of the match which ended goalless.
Second half goals from Okah Adaobi and Chiamaka Okwuchukwu secured the win in the semi-finals on Monday
Adaobi opened the scoring in the 74th minute before Okwuchukwu added the second on 89 minutes.
The Christopher Danjuma-led side has achieved three wins in three games.
The team opened their Group B campaign with a 2-0 win against Morocco before hammering Senegal 4-0 in their second game.
The Falconets are the defending champions of the African Games women’s football event.
