Gunmen have kidnapped Adamu Derwam, the District Head of Panyam in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
This is coming after St. Anthony’s Parish Catholic priest of Angaware community in the Jos East Local Government Area and the Christain Association of Nigeria Chairman of the State, James Kantoma, was kidnapped and released a few days ago.
The paramount ruler was abducted at his residence in Panyam town in the early hours of Monday, 2022, according to AIT.
A brother to the monarch, Friday Derwam, while confirming the incident in Jos, said the gunmen stormed the palace at about 1:35 am and began shooting sporadically before taking the victim to an unknown destination.
The Plateau State Police Command through its spokesperson, Alfredo Alabo, confirmed the incident and deployment of a combined tactical team of Police, Army, vigilante and hunters to the area, for the possible rescue of the traditional ruler.
