Air Peace on Thursday explained that its Abuja-Lagos flight made an emergency stop after a bird strike incident before take-off.
The airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, who disclosed this in a statement, said the airline swiftly handled the issue.
According to Ndiulo, the flight scheduled for 06:30 was impacted by the bird strike before it could take off, prompting an immediate return to the ramp for safety reasons.
“We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that our Abuja-Lagos 06:30 flight experienced a bird strike before take-off, prompting a return to the ramp as a safety measure. All passengers disembarked normally,” the statement read.
The airline spokesperson said a replacement aircraft was quickly deployed to minimize delays for the affected passengers.
“We have deployed a replacement aircraft for the affected flight to ensure passengers continue their journeys promptly. We appeal for the understanding of our valued passengers impacted by this development, as well as those on other flights that may experience delays,” the statement added.
