The late Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has been honored with a posthumous award as the Jagunmolu of Owo Anglican Diocese.
The award was presented during the ongoing funeral service held in his honor in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
During the funeral service honoring the late Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Bishop Stephen Fagbemi, expressed that he had intended to present the posthumous award of Jagunmolu to the late governor after the completion of his tenure.
However, due to his untimely passing, the award was handed over to Vice President Kashim Shettima, who then presented it to Akeredolu’s first son on behalf of the family.
The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima is also attending the service at St Andrews Church, Imola Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State venue of the funeral service for the late governor of the State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The incumbent governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa is also present at the ongoing interment service for the governor.
Other dignitaries present include Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State governor Dapo Abiodun, Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, Charles Soludo among others.
Akeredolu will be laid to rest on Friday(today) in Owo, his hometown.
