Andy Murray has announced his retirement from tennis following the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 37-year-old plans to compete in both singles and doubles in Paris, marking his fifth Olympic appearance.
“Arrived in Paris for my last ever tennis tournament,” Murray shared on X.
“Competing for Team GB has been by far the most memorable weeks of my career and I’m extremely proud to get to do it one final time!”
Murray’s Olympic journey began in Beijing in 2008, and he clinched gold in the singles at London 2012, defeating Roger Federer in straight sets.
He made history by becoming the first male tennis player to win two Olympic singles titles with his victory over Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro in Rio four years later.
The three-time Grand Slam champion has made a remarkable comeback from career-saving hip surgery in January 2019.
A two-time Wimbledon winner, Murray made his final competitive appearance at SW19 earlier in July, exiting the doubles in the first round alongside his brother Jamie.
