In its fight against crimes, the Nigerian Military troop has raided an underage brothels located at Kasuwan Fara, Shagari low-cost area of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital and shut it down.
According to Daily Post, it was gathered that the shutdown of the brothels was a result of a media report which unravelled the illegal activities taking place there.
One of the residents of the community, Halima Abdul, said, “The military raided the place two days ago and arrested some people.
It was learnt that this move had tranquilized the whole environ, “We don’t know where they took the culprits to.” She went on to explain that the raid and subsequent patrols by the military have transformed the community into a more serene environment for the residents.
“We suffered years of torment and misery, but with what we are seeing today, normalcy is setting in,” she added.
In his own part, Solomon Joseph, hailed the military’s action, describing it as one of the best things that had happened to the community.
