Popular Nigerian Afrobeats star, Asake, was whisked off the stage during a performance in the United States over the weekend over an alleged security risk.
Rumour had it that the Terminator crooner’s security personnel was robbed of his gun at the concert forcing the security team to move the singer away from the stage at the sold-out show in Baltimore.
Punch Metro reports that the US has a history of gun violence which has led to the loss of many lives including the recent killing of American rapper PnB Rock who was shot dead at a restaurant in California.
Moving Asake to safety in a fully packed indoor hall appeared important as the safety of the guests and the singer was expected to be of top priority.
However, the organizers have tendered an apology and promised to set up a new date for the event which will be announced in due time.
