They crashed out of the competition after losing 3-1 on aggregate, following their crushing defeat at Anfield last week.
Mohamed Salah put the visitors ahead in Italy from the penalty spot following a handball in the area from an Atalanta defender, boosting Liverpool’s hope of staging an unlikely comeback.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men were unable to find another goal, with the home side successfully managing to stifle the game in the second half.
Klopp made a series of substitutions after the break in an attempt to change the course of the tie.
But it was his decision to keep a player on the pitch that frustrated Liverpool fans.
While the likes of Salah, Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold were brought off, midfielder Curtis Jones was kept on the pitch despite an underwhelming performance.
