Nottingham striker, Taiwo Awoniyi will miss Super Eagles 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe due to injury.
According to Completespory, Awoniyi picked up the injury in the game against Lesotho in Uyo on Thursday.
He was reportedly spotted at the Uyo local airport on Friday, 17 November, limping a bit as he was about to catch a flight to Lagos where he will head to England.
A close source who was traveling with Awoniyi, confirmed that it was a groin injury.
Awoniyi was in action for the Eagles against Lesotho before substituted for Terem Moffi in the 59th minute.
He paired Victor Boniface in the starting 11 before being replaced.
