Plateau State Police Command has confirmed that a sack bag containing the human parts was found near a stream in the Alama community, Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
According to The PUNCH, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Alabo Alfred, confirmed the development.
An eyewitness disclosed that the dismembered body was that of a man.
A resident of the Alama community, John Badungs, told newsmen n Jos on Wednesday that it was street cleaners who discovered the bag that contained a dismembered human body in the morning.
Badungs disclosed that the cleaners’ alarm drew community residents to the area.
Expressing shock over the development, Badungd said, “I have not seen something like this before. It was this morning that my neighbour told me that a bag containing the human body was found near a stream close to the Kabong Satellite market.
“When we rushed to the place, we discovered that it was true. The white sack containing the body was tied and dumped on the ground, but you could see the human leg and other parts when you come close to the bag.
“It was indeed a horrible scene, but nobody could tell who the victim was and what happened to him or the people who killed him in such a horrible manner.”
It was learnt that policemen who arrived in the area later evacuated the body bag.
Speaking further on incident, the police spokesperson said that an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident was ongoing.
“We can’t say anything concerning the body that was found today in the Alama community because we have commenced investigation. When we are done, we can tell you what happened, ” the PPRO said.
