Spanish giants, Barcelona, have reached an agreement with Sevilla for the signing of French international defender, Jules Kounde.
Barcelona and Sevilla confirmed the deal in separate statements on their respective official websites.
According to respected Italian transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, the fixed fee will be around €50m plus add-ons, less than Chelsea’s initial £55m bid for the defender.
“FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jules Olivier Kounde, awaiting the player passing a medical and the signing of contracts.
“The official nature of the deal is dependent on the player passing a medical and the signing of contracts,” Barcelona said.
Kounde is already in Barcelona in order to undergo the medical tests and then sign as a new Barça player.
The Frenchman joins the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha and Franck Kessié to join the Spanish football powerhouse this summer.
