Hauwa Duguri, the stepmother of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has died at the age of 120.
The announcement was made on Wednesday through a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
In the statement, Gidado described Hauwa Duguri, affectionately known as “Dada,” as a figure of wisdom and compassion whose life was defined by selflessness, piety, and service to her community.
He noted that her death on January 1, 2025, signifies the end of an era.
The funeral prayer (Janazah) is set to take place at 4:00 pm today at Dr. Rilwan Adamu Square in the Government House, Bauchi.
Governor Mohammed extended his condolences to the Duguri family and all those touched by her life.
He urged the public to join in praying for her soul, expressing hope that Almighty Allah grants her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and provides strength to her loved ones during this time of grief.
