In his first Bundesliga start, Lovro Zvonarek made an immediate impact, scoring minutes into the game to help Bayern Munich secure a 2-0 victory against Wolfsburg in Thomas Tuchel’s final home game in charge.
Zvonarek, only 19 years old, found the back of the net for Bayern with a precise strike off the far post in the fourth minute.
Leon Goretzka added a second goal just nine minutes later, putting Bayern in a commanding position early in the match.
Despite missing key forwards such as Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané, Serge Gnabry, and Kingsley Coman due to injury, Bayern remained dominant.
Bryan Zaragoza appeared to extend the lead to 3-0 with his first Bundesliga goal, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review for an offside infringement.
Wolfsburg’s defense improved as the match progressed and Bayern’s intensity waned.
Tuchel, who had already agreed to leave Bayern at the end of the season, substituted goalkeeper Manuel Neuer around the 75th minute, marking Neuer’s 500th Bundesliga appearance.
Matteo Vinlöf made his Bayern debut as Neuer was replaced, and Zvonarek was substituted in the 90th minute for 18-year-old Jonathan Asp-Jensen to make his debut as well.
In another game, Hoffenheim secured a dominant 6-0 victory over relegated Darmstadt.
Additionally, St. Pauli clinched promotion from the second division.
