Controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly departed Nigeria just days after his release from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Although he kept his destination under wraps, Bobrisky took to Instagram to flaunt his travel plans, revealing that he booked a first-class ticket.
“See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl,” he boasted in a series of videos posted on his Instagram story early Monday morning.
He added a touch of humor by commenting on the “disfigured” appearance of his passport photo, saying, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
His departure comes in the wake of several tumultuous events from the previous week.
Reports indicated that Bobrisky was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to travel to London.
He claimed to have sustained injuries during the incident and promptly took to social media to alert his followers about the altercation.
Following this confrontation, he was taken to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja for questioning related to allegations that he attempted to bribe officials with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges against him.
Bobrisky was eventually released on bail on Saturday after he reportedly denied the bribery allegations during his confessional statement at the commission.
The legal issues for Bobrisky began earlier in April 2024 when he was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse.
While he was initially held at Kirikiri Prison, it was later revealed that he spent only three weeks in confinement before being discreetly moved to an undisclosed private location.
The situation intensified in September when social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, released an audio recording that purportedly features Bobrisky discussing plans to bribe EFCC officials in exchange for dropping the money laundering charges against him.
This added another layer of controversy to Bobrisky’s already tumultuous narrative as he continues to navigate the complexities of his legal troubles.
