The president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has assured Nigerians that justice will be served to the alleged killers of Omobolanle Raheem , who was shot dead by an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Drambi Vandi.
Buhari, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, on Tuesday, described the killing as “heinous and senseless”.
He directed the police authorities to take “the strongest possible action” against the culprits already held in detention.
Buhari said the incident is a wake-up call to law enforcement agencies, especially the Police, to guarantee the full execution of reforms initiated by the administration on the topic of weapons handling and the protection of the rights of citizens.
Buhari said, “In this hour of grief, the nation stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and the NBA.
