The Borno State Government and security agency leaders have announced a temporary relaxation of the curfew in the state to allow Muslims to attend Friday (Jumaat) congregation prayers.
According to The PUNCH, the Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Daso Nahun, shared this update in a statement released in Maiduguri on Friday.
According to the announcement, the curfew will be lifted from 12 pm to 3 pm to facilitate Muslims in attending Jumaat prayers at nearby mosques.
However, the curfew will be reinstated from 3 pm on Friday until 6 am on Saturday. Residents are urged to conduct their activities lawfully and avoid any form of violence.
Nahun reassured the public of the commitment to safeguarding lives and property, emphasizing ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace and security in the state.
