Brazilian legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, is dead.
His demise was announced by ESPN on Thursday evening.
The soccer legend died at the age of 82 years after battling colon cancer.
It would be recalled that Pele was moved to palliative treatment after chemotherapy stopped few days before Christmas.
Pele won the 1958, 1962 and 1970 World Cups, scoring 77 goals in the process.
