The Ekiti-born Chef, Damilola Adeparusi, has made a U-turn to say she would be challenging Celebrity Chef, Hilda Baci’s, Guinness World Record of marathon cooking.
Recall that, Dammy, had attempted to cook for a length of 120 hours just some weeks after Baci made her own attempt of 100 hours in Lagos.
Although, Dammy was criticized by many, she completed her attempt on Wednesday, June 14.
In a turn of events, GWR had mentioned that approving an attempted world record could take as long as 16 weeks, however, Hilda Baci was awarded the new record holder on the same day Dammy ended her attempt, just few weeks apart.
After the Ekiti chef’s attempt, she has since received accolades from far and wide, including a United States cooking tour and more.
During an interview with BBC Yoruba, she also mentioned that she attempted the feet for “fun” and not for any world record title.
It is, however, surprising, that on Saturday, Chef Dammy, at the National Union of Journalists Secretariat at Ado Ekiti, declared that she would be attempting the record officially in July, for a length of 150 hours of marathon cooking.
In an online video, Chef Dammy said, “I, Adeparusi Damilola, popularly known as, Chef Dammy, and my team have decided to hold another cook-a-thon program next month.
“This time it will be held for 150 hours and it will be duly registered with Guinness World Record. Chef Dammy is coming back.”
