Chelsea have secured the services of Tosin Adarabioyo, who became a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Fulham.
Despite initial reports linking the defender with a move to Newcastle, Adarabioyo is now Enzo Maresca’s first signing at Stamford Bridge.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the completion of Adarabioyo’s medical and his signing of a five-year contract.
Taking to his X on Thursday night Romano wrote, “First signing for Enzo Maresca at Chelsea: Tosin Adarabioyo has signed his contract until June 2028 after medical completed on Wednesday. Here we go, confirmed.”
The highly sought-after 26-year-old defender has been linked with several top Premier League clubs.
Manchester United, in particular, were interested in bolstering their defense with Adarabioyo but made their move too late.
Adarabioyo declined multiple contract offers from Fulham in his final months at Craven Cottage.
While Newcastle appeared to be leading the race for Adarabioyo, Chelsea intervened and secured his signature, beating out the competition.
