Chelsea have entered talks discussing the inclusion of Nicolas Jackson in any potential deal for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.
The Blues have inquired about the availability of the Swedish striker, who has been valued at over £100 million.
Given the substantial fee being demanded, a deal appears unlikely without players going the other way – with Jackson emerging as a potential option.
The Senegal international, 23, had a mixed debut season at Stamford Bridge, finishing with 17 goals and six assists across all competitions, including four goals in his last five Premier League matches.
Jackson is seen as a key prospect for Chelsea’s future, but his departure may be necessary to facilitate a move for Isak.
Despite facing financial constraints related to profit and sustainability regulations, Newcastle are hesitant to part ways with such a crucial player.
Manager Eddie Howe is open to selling strike partner Callum Wilson this summer but is keen on retaining Isak and reinforcing the attack around him.
Last season, the 24-year-old battled injuries but still managed an impressive tally of 25 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions, with 21 of those coming in the league.
Newcastle are also looking to offload youngster Yankuba Minteh, with Brighton tabling a £30 million bid and Everton considering a swap deal involving Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Chelsea are also eyeing Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The Leicester academy graduate was a target for Brighton, who had a bid rejected in January.
Recently promoted Leicester have turned down an initial offer from West London, but Chelsea are expected to return with an improved bid, potentially including players in exchange.
Armando Broja and midfielder Cesare Casadei, who spent the first half of last season at Leicester, have been mentioned in discussions.
Dewsbury-Hall played a pivotal role under Enzo Maresca as Leicester secured the Championship title last season before Maresca’s departure to Chelsea.
Additionally, Chelsea have finalized the signing of Aston Villa youngster Omari Kellyman for £19 million, following Ian Maatsen’s move to Villa Park in a deal valued at £37.5 million.
