The first medals of the 2024 Paris Olympics were awarded today in shooting, with China clinching the gold following last night’s spectacular opening ceremony.

This victory mirrors China’s success in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where they also won gold in the 10m air rifle women’s final and the same event in Tokyo.
Kazakhstan claimed the first medal of the Paris Olympics, earning bronze in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event. Islam Satpayev and Alexandra Le from Kazakhstan achieved this honor by defeating Germany 17-5 in the bronze medal match.
The gold medal match, featuring China and South Korea, is the next event on the schedule.
