The Lagos State government has ordered an inquiry into the electrocution case of the deceased Chrisland student, Whitney Adeniran.
This is coming after an autopsy carried out on the deceased’s body showed that Whitney died from electrocution.
PUNCH METRO reported that the mother of the deceased during a live session revealed that the management of the school lied regarding the case as autopsy showed that Whitney was electrocuted.
The school had earlier claimed that the deceased had slumped and passed away during the school’s inter house sports competition at Agege Stadium.
In a latest development, the Lagos State government has confirmed the autopsy report that the deceased died from electrocution.
According to The PUNCH, the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, has acknowledged the autopsy.
He said the Post Mortem report dated 1st of March, 2023 was given by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
“The post-mortem report revealed the cause of death to be Asphyxia and electrocution. The Directorate of Public Prosecutions has been instructed to issue Legal Advice on the matter,” he said.
