A collision between a bus and a container-laden truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, specifically on the Berger-Kara axis, led to a severe gridlock on Thursday, leaving numerous passengers stranded.
According to The PUNCH, eyewitnesses said accident occurred in the early hours of the day, resulting in the blockage of the road and causing a significant traffic jam.
Commuters traveling from Berger to Mowe-Ibafo were particularly affected, with some being stuck in the gridlock for several hours.
A commuter, Ismail, described the situation, stating, “The accident caused a gridlock stretching from Kara to Berger.”
The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the incident, with spokesperson Florence Okpe reporting that three individuals were injured in the collision.
She added that three persons were injured in the collision.
Okpe said, “There was no casualty, but three persons were injured. The injured persons have been taken to a nearby hospital.”
Okpe noted that efforts are ongoing to remove the accident vehicle to allow for the free flow of traffic.
