An Abuja Magistrate Court on Friday detained Prof Zainab Duke Abiola, alongside her domestic staff for assaulting police orderly, Inspector Teju Moses, attached to her.
The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, had condemned the alleged attack on the policewoman by the professor.
The victim alleged that Duke, an activist, severely assaulted her on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her home in Garki, Abuja, because she (the policewoman) refused to violate professional ethics by performing menial and domestic tasks at her residence.
However, Duke-Abiola was denied bail in court on Friday, and the case was postponed until October 5, 2022.
The magistrate also ordered that she be held in Suleja Prison until the rescheduled court date.
