A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Chioma Okoli, the Lagos resident standing trial for conspiracy and cyberstalking over her review of a tomato mix produced by Erisco Foods Limited.
According to FIJ, include a bail bond of N5 million, two sureties in like sum, one of which must be a spouse or blood relative, and two passport photographs. The defendant must also deposit her international passport with the court.
Okoli appeared in court on Friday morning after spending days in a prison in the Suleja area of Abuja.
The case has been adjourned until June 13, 2024, for trial.
It would be recalled that the Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Chioma Okoli in prison after she was arraigned for alleged defamation against Erisco Foods Limited.
Ms denied any wrongdoing when the two charges preferred against her were read to her before the trial judge, Peter Lifu, on Tuesday.
She is being prosecuted under Nigeria’s Cybercrime Act.
