Crystal Palace goalkeeper, Owen Goodman, recently visited Nigeria Football Federation President, Ibrahim Gusau, in Abuja.
This was revealed in a 30 seconds video shared on social media.
This visit comes sixteen months after Goodman rejected a call-up to the Flying Eagles.
While the exact purpose of his visit remains unclear, it may signify the 20-year-old’s interest in connecting with his Nigerian heritage.
Goodman, born in England to a British father and Nigerian mother, is eligible to represent England, Nigeria, and Canada internationally.
He previously attended a Canada U20 training camp in April 2022 but declined an invitation to the Flying Eagles training camp in January 2023, instead opting to wait for a call-up to England’s Men’s Elite League Squad, which he eventually received.
The dual-national goalkeeper has made two appearances for the England U20 team, playing in a friendly against the United States in March 2023 and against Romania in the U20 Elite League last December.
Goodman joined Crystal Palace at the U13 level and signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2021.
However, he has yet to debut for the first team, he has been named in the Premier League matchday squad four times.
In 2023, Goodman was loaned to Colchester United, where he made 40 appearances across all competitions and kept four clean sheets.
