Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has been appointed as the King Charles III ambassador in the United Kingdom, adding another feather to her cap.
DJ Cuppy, who is the daughter of Nigerian business mogul, Femi Otedola was invited to Buckingham Palace to represent Nigeria, where she showcased her brilliance.
Her father, Femi, proudly shared the news on his social media handle@realFemiOtedola, expressing his joy and congratulating her on her new role as a King’s Trust International Ambassador.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in DJ Cuppy’s career, demonstrating her influence and impact on the global stage.

DJ Cuppy, has carved out an impressive career since her debut as the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban in 2014. That year, she also performed at the Tatler and Christie’s Art Ball in London and the Financial Times Business of Luxury Summit in Mexico City.
In July 2014, DJ Cuppy released her first compilation mix, ‘House of Cuppy’, in London and Lagos, and later launched it in New York in September. This compilation featured EDM-style remixes of popular afropop songs.
That same year, she founded the London-based music management and content production company, Red Velvet Music Group.
January 2015 saw Cuppy gracing the cover of Guardian Life magazine, which celebrated a new generation of African women. In March, she became the official DJ for the 2015 Oil Barons Charity event in Dubai, marking the first performance by an African act at the event.
She was also featured in the April/May 2015 issue of Forbes Woman Africa.
In June 2015, DJ Cuppy released ‘House of Cuppy II’, another successful EP. In August, she embarked on her first DJ tour, ‘Cuppy Takes Africa’, visiting eight African countries including Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa.
This tour included performances, artist collaborations, and charitable activities, supported by GTB Bank and the Dangote Foundation. Later that year, she interned at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
In October 2016, the ‘Cuppy Takes Africa’ tour was aired as an eight-episode documentary series on Fox Life Africa. Cuppy also served as the resident DJ for MTV2’s ‘Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne Tha God’.
She produced two tracks, ‘Vibe’ and ‘The Way I Am’, for Young Paris’s ‘Afrobeats’ EP, released on 24 March 2017.
DJ Cuppy released her first official single, ‘Green Light’, featuring Tekno, on 13 October 2017. This was followed by ‘Vybe’ featuring Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie in March 2018, ‘Currency’ featuring L.A.X in August 2018, ‘Werk’ featuring Skuki in October 2018, ‘Abena’ with Kwesi Arthur in April 2019, and ‘Gelato’ featuring Zlatan in August 2019.
In 2020, DJ Cuppy was inducted into Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 class. On 28 May 2020, she began hosting ‘Africa Now Radio’ on Apple Music Beats 1, and on 16 July 2020, she released her single ‘Jollof On The Jet’ featuring Rema and Rayvanny. Her debut album, ‘Original Copy’, was unveiled on 24 August 2020.
In February 2021, DJ Cuppy partnered with Apple Music to launch their first radio show in Africa. By September 2021, she was announced as a cast member of Channel 4’s reality TV show ‘High Life’, which focuses on the careers of British West Africans.
From January to August 2022, she hosted the Sunday version of BBC Radio 1Xtra’s breakfast show.
