A bus driver has sustained an injury following an accident involving a truck-laden container and two commercial buses in the Oshodi area of Lagos State.
This is coming about three days after eight people including, two children, were crushed to death by a 20-ft container that fell off a truck in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos on Sunday.
Barely 24 hours after the Ojuelegba tragedy, a 40-ft container fell off another truck along the Dopemu under bridge area of the state on Monday, causing traffic on the road.
While there is no official confirmation from relevant agencies concerning Wednesday’s crash yet, an eyewitness at the scene of the Oshodi accident told Punch Metro that the accident occurred as a result of a “brake failure” suffered by the truck-laden container.
He revealed that one of the drivers of the buses affected by the fallen container sustained an injury while his passengers were lucky to escape unscathed.
“Just the driver injured. Passengers were lucky to get out unscathed,” the source told our correspondent who is yet to ascertain the degree of injury sustained by the driver.
As seen in the photos shared with this publication, the toppled container affected two long-commercial buses.
