The Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations to ensure their safety during the Easter celebrations.
The Ifo Unit Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Memee Timothy, shared this advice during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun.
“Motorists should refrain from speeding, wrongful overtaking, and driving against traffic that could lead to unnecessary loss of lives during Easter,” Timothy emphasized.
He also cautioned against overloading and drunk driving, as these behaviors contribute to road accidents.
Timothy further revealed that FRSC personnel would be deployed throughout the state to monitor traffic, manage congestion, and address emergencies involving accidents and breakdowns during the festive period.
“Our men will also be stationed at strategic locations and road construction zones to apprehend those engaging in overloading or driving without a valid driver’s licence,” he added.
The Ifo Unit Commander called on motorists to collaborate with FRSC personnel and other agencies to ensure a smooth and safe Easter celebration.
Timothy reassured the public of the FRSC’s dedication to ensuring that all road users reach their destinations safely.
