The Economic Community of West African States has condemned the violence that erupted in Guinea Bissau in the early hours of Friday.
The condemnation was made known in a statement issued by the ECOWAS Parliament on Saturday in Abuja.
It said the community learnt with deep preoccupation, the violence that erupted in Guinea Bissau in the early hours of Friday.
The ECOWAS strongly condemned the violence and all attempts to disrupt the constitutional order and rule of law in Guinea Bissau.
The West African body further urged the authority to apprehend and prosecute those unleashed the violence in accordance with the law.
It equally expressed its full solidarity with the people of Guinea Bissau and the constitutional authority of their country
